USE OF ENGLISH: Phrasal Verbs
Phrasal Verbs are tricky verbs. They are made up of 2 words, one of them being a verb and the other one not. Interesting enough, the meaning of the verb comes from the word which is not a verb. It is also very difficult to figure out the meaning of the phrasal verb by just adding the parts. Some very common phrasal verbs are:
- Make up
- Figure out
- Work out
- Hang up
- Hang in
- Make out
- Put together
- Drop off
- Drop by
- Swing by
- Come by
- Look up
- Look after
